Cause first
A leak, a bathroom fan venting into the attic instead of outside, a blocked condensate line, or an unconditioned space that never dries. We look for the water before quoting the remediation, because a remediation quote that does not mention the source is selling you the job twice.
Containment matters
Disturbing mould without containment spreads spores through the whole house via the air handler. Proper work means sealed containment, negative air, HEPA filtration and the HVAC shut down, then removing affected material rather than spraying and painting over it.
What mold remediation has to include
Containment, negative air, HEPA filtration and the air handler shut down, then physical removal of affected material. Spraying and painting over growth is not remediation, and disturbing it without containment distributes spores through the whole house via the ducts. The EPA sets out the same sequence.
What we do not do
We do not diagnose health effects and we do not interpret air-sample results. Where testing is warranted, an independent hygienist should do it, precisely because they are not the people being paid to remediate.
